EMDR — eye movement desensitization and reprocessing — is a fairly new, nontraditional type of psychotherapy. Most often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), EMDR therapy is also used as a trauma treatment. While developed as a visual therapy, EMDR bilateral stimulation does have applications through other sensory fields. Alternating Sounds LLC is unique in exploring EMDR through bilateral stimulation of sounds, i.e., music and other noises.
